July 31, 2005 - 11 Vision Systems staff
members gathered at 8:00 am at the Alsterglacis in Hamburg
to participate the 55km event of the HEW-Cyclassics. It was
a sunny sunday morning, all members dressed in the blue
VScom jersey, partly sponsored by the magazine PC
Professional.
The field with 7500 participants started at 8:15, "Team VS"
had to start nearly from the back, since they participated
for the first time. But they were all well trained and
started to make up time, riding sometimes with speed over 40
km/h. After 35 kilometers, they had to manage some hills.
Unfortunately they lost each other during the race and so
they reached the finish between 10:00 am and 10:30,
occupying place 779 up to 4902.
It was a great experience to ride under professional
circumstances, especialy the rejoicing crouds standing at
the track and the finishing line!
They are all optimistic for the next year; some even want to
participate the 100 km event!
